Review: Thank You Viajero Hostel Cartagena

I definitely want to thank El Viajero Hostel in Cartagena. This place definitely saved my butt when I had to be quarantined. I booked a room for $13 USD a night, and the process was very easy. So the airport said that I couldn’t leave until I presented a PCR test or stayed within the country for 14 days. I didn’t prepare for this. I also didn’t have internet, but I was able to find a spot in Ciudad Amurallada (Walled City) on the Hostelworld app. I booked a room and got it within the same hour.

The hostel itself was nice. It was clean, the scenery was beautiful, and there were a lot of places to lounge around inside. It’s like a mini paradise shared with other travelers. Breakfast costs about 10,000 COP ($2.20 USD), and the food is delicious. A cup of coffee, watermelon, arepas, eggs, and a cup of juice. $2.87 in The Bronx, NY can only get you a Begin’eggncheese (Bacon, Egg, and cheese with a roll). The hostesses of the hostel are very warm and welcoming. I enjoyed talking with them so much that I completely forgot about the disappointment of the airport. The rooms have air conditioning and they are clean and disinfected daily. They operate 24/7 so you can come back at any time of the night. Shared showers but, separate bathrooms. If you forget anything, like toothpaste, they got you. Definitely recommend it!
